It is possible and even likely that a peripheral position can elicit some combination of these characteristics. The human psyche may be organized in an infinite variety of ways. Therefore, PES is often used early in treatment for the purpose of understanding how each personâs psyche is organized.
There are several basic principles that have been observed to govern the number and types of modules of experience revealed by PES. The following list describes some of those principles:
When a client possesses a significant number of unresolved emotions, these emotions are likely to emerge as if they were stored in separate compartments when activated by PES.
Many emotions that have receded from conscious awareness are fully intact when re-opened through PES.
The greater the intensity of unresolved emotions, the greater the tendency for the brain to store them into separate neural network compartments.
People with fewer unresolved emotions tend to have fewer distinctively different neural network modules of separate psychological attributes as well as fewer barriers between neural networks of internal psychological parts.
